Good Believable Plot

I can't say enough about this book (and series). Read it straight through. Good Believable Plot. Characters that you really like. May be a series but there was no cliffhanger (can't wait for next in the series). Only reason I didn't give it a five is because I am ready to find out what happens with the rest of the band and friends.....

Another somewhat predictable contemporary romance almost ruined by poor editing

Hunter is part of a rock band, but the band members hardly spend any time together. In fact, this book centers around Hunter doing a solo project. The first book of this series focused on Brynn and Gauge. This book focuses on Brynn's best friend Trinity and Hunter. Hunter met Trinity in the first book and she left a lasting impression on him. So much so that he wrote a song about her and now wants her to be the star of the video for the song. Problems ensue when Hunter may be ready for a more permanent relationship but Trinity doesn't think she is. You have to give Hunter credit for being a nice guy who works very hard to try to change her mind. This book would have been much better if it had been edited properly. I submitted 15 corrections ranging from format errors to nonsensical sentences to incorrect words (nauseas instead of nauseous, leave instead of leaf, etc.)

Solid info for survival

Greg Davenport's books are good solid baseline knowledge about survival. It is a bit on the dry side and the illustrations are all drawings as opposed to high contrast 4 color on clay stock pictures. . But the information is solid.

must have for winter travels

A good book for winter travels. Has the right skills for winter recreation and describes them easily and most are simple to do as long as you have the right mindset if you have become upon a dangerous situation. Remember to stop and think and check your gear if you have found yourself lost in the woods or back country weither in a car, on foot etc.

This book was just mostly a reprint of Greg Davenport's wilderness survival book with a few extra tidbits added on cold weather. If you get his survival book dont bother with this one.

Still Good for Today

This is a collection of BTW's Sunday sermons to his Tuskegee students. Originally published in 1902, the lessons on thrift, clean living, sharing what you learn with others, the need to read, and the value of education of the heart as well as the head are still valuable a century later. Does not date too badly and with so many young people growing up today without this kind of advice in the home, it's needed just as much today.
Many uninformed people dismiss BTW as an "Uncle Tom," but the publication of more of his writings like this will show that in spite of any faults, he was a very useful person in the upliftment of people. Read it and see.

Character Building (An African American Heritage Book) This book has so many wonderful life lessons which are just as powerful and thought-provoking today as they were when Booker T. Washington wrote them at the turn of the 20th century. I try to read an essay to my students on a regular basis because the essays really hit home with some of the issues my students have. The essays are well-written and easy to read and understand.
